Steve is a very nice, friendly boy with quite a sweet disposition. After an extended stay at the pound, he has found his way into rescue. Steve is a very smart dog who comes with a few tricks under his belt already! He knows how to sit and down on command - and will even do it at a distance when asked! He is quite gentle and lovey dovey with people, and is excellent with other animals. Steve likes both dogs and seems to adapt well to all kinds of canine personalities! He is good with cats, but does tend to get excited when they run. While he may herd them in the beginning, it isn't long before he is snuggled up with them! As with most very intelligent dogs, Steve is always looking for something to do. He loves to play with people, toys, and other animals too! He enjoys children and has been very good with the kids he has met so far. Steve has a great off switch and does settle after he's had a good play or run. He tends to like to peek up on the counters and is working on improving this. If there are snacks or toys he can reach, he is quick to help himself. Steve does need to be crated, as he gets into trouble if he is left loose. He does very well in a kennel, and doesn't fuss past a little initial complaint. He would be an excellent dog for someone interested in doing training, because Steve learns so quickly! He loves games and is always happy to have someone engage and play with him. Steve is quite an easy guy to like - he's a regular joe with a fun and friendly nature! Steve is an easy guy to get along with and he would be a great fit for an active home! (Indoor Home Only!)
